Do you ever work from home? Even if you don’t you may have a home office set up so you can enjoy using your computer, clearing out some paperwork and taking care of other chores and tasks.
Setting up a home office properly is always advantageous because it allows you to feel comfortable in there and have it nice and tidy at all times. But an office doesn’t just have to be efficient – it can also be comfortable and welcoming. After all, if you work from home every day it makes sense to ensure you have nice surroundings to work in. You wouldn’t be able to influence the surroundings if you worked for someone else, but if you are the boss you can do pretty much whatever you like!
So how about adding a leather armchair to your office, for those moments when you don’t have to be sitting at the computer? Obviously you wouldn’t sit in a leather armchair to use your computer, but if you have a laptop you could sit in the armchair and use in on your lap.
It can also help to add some character to your home office. You will need to consider how to plan the office initially so that you have room for the armchair however. Sketch out a floor plan and work out where your computer desk is going to go. This is really the most important thing to think about, since you will be using your desk quite a lot.
Once you have done that, and you have allowed room for your office chair as well, you can think about what else you will have in the room. This will include your armchair of course, so consider where the most likely position will be. The amount of space you have available can influence your decision here, along with how big the leather armchair will be. In addition to this you need to think about whether you have a choice of positions to consider.
For example would you prefer to have your leather armchair in a nice bright position next to the window? Or would a position closer to some bookcases be better? This would be good if you want to keep the leather chair out of the sunlight and closer to your selection of books. Some home offices benefit from having a place you can use to sit and read in.
